Website Development

I specialize in creating accessible, W3C-compliant, valid XHTML and CSS websites. I am passionate about web standards and aim to uphold them wherever possible. However, because the user experience is at the core of good design, I’m not shy about bending the rules to suit the perfect interactive solution for you.

All of my websites are thoroughly tested to ensure compatibility with modern browsers, such as Internet Explorer 7 & 8, Firefox 3, Opera 9, Safari 4 and Google Chrome. Because some have trouble keeping up with the rapid pace of technology, I ensure that any bells and whistles will gracefully degrade without “breaking the layout” when viewed in older products like Internet Explorer 6.

My code is neat and semantically correct, making it easy to read and maintain for any developer, and minimizing the costs of any future work.

Content Management

A website needs to be updated often with new content in order to keep it fresh and interesting. I deliver fully-implemented and ready to use Content-Management Systems, so that you and your staff can make updates with only some basic computer knowledge. I can recommend a CMS to suit your needs, or build a website using your preferred system.

You need not be a computer whiz to get started – I’ll train you to use your CMS until you’re satisfied that you can handle it on your own, and will provide documentation if necessary.

I’ll see your project through from the beginning stages until well after it’s launched. From domains & hosting to information architecture & copywriting, to internet marketing, it’s my personal mission to make your life easier while taking care of the details. I’ll provide recommendations on where to host your site and under what domain name, and can help you prioritize and streamline your content to present it as effectively as possible.

After your website has launched, I will make sure that people can find it using Google and other popular search engines. Each site includes per-page keyword optimization so that your content ranks well in relevant searches. Sitemaps are also submitted to search engines to give you that extra boost, and a full web analytics package will give you detailed reports on how your site is performing.
